Nashville Refrigerated Services, Inc.
Refrigerated warehouse construction requires strict construction methods and safety procedures. This type of construction requires specific knowledge and experience to meet the client’s expectations successfully and efficiently. For example, in refrigerated buildings colder denser air tends to drop towards the floor creating positive pressure at low levels and negative pressure at higher levels. The effect is moisture and condensation can result in failure of the building enclosure including the structural failure of concrete slabs-on-grade.
More than doubling its original size, this expansion project included two Carden Company additions. A design/build project, the NRS building’s main complication was, of course, temperature control – particularly for their freezer. Their minus 10-degree freezer demanded upfront planning to consider the effects of the environment on all phases of construction.
